Have you ever been so afraid to fall/die/miss out/lose that your whole body got paralyzed by it?
Have you also felt someone else’s fear get transferred over to you and somehow you “had it too”?
Fear has an impact on our lives (and it’s often hiding secondary emotions that prevent you from truly living an aligned life).
In this episode of the Be Happy Now Show, we delved into the fears that hold us back and how to understand their underlying emotions.
I was so moved by the responses from the women in my community about their own emotions and fears, and it got me thinking about you.
I know you’ve experienced your share of fears, and I want you to know that we’re in this together because I did/do too.
Fear can take various forms, like the fear of not having enough money, the fear of past traumas reappearing, and the fear of being pushed away or being let down.
For example, when I faced my fear of parasailing head-on by preparing myself mentally and stepping out of my comfort zone… It was truly a transformative experience, and it made me realize the immense power we have within us to overcome fears. The old me would have never dared to walk off of a cliff and “fly” because fear was “the Boss” of me.
And in another occasion, after I did the cold water plunge (listen to episode about it here) I remember a man sitting next to me at the coffee shop telling me how he would’ve never stayed in the cold water for 10 minutes on one of his first plunges. He said that I’ll shiver for 4 hours afterwards and that the cold can get to my organs and I can get hypothermia…
In the latter case, I chose to not take on the man’s fears (and good on me because I did not shiver, I did not get hypothermia, and I WAS FINE)!
If you reflected on your own experiences of being afraid…
When have you encountered fears that you knew weren’t truly yours?
How did you handle them?
Have you ever felt the need to engage in conversations driven by fear, even if you didn’t truly believe in those fears?
· What might be the deeper emotions beneath your most persistent fears? (listen to the episode and download my primary and secondary emotions handout)
· How can you transform your fears into opportunities for growth and empowerment?
· What steps can you take to stay true to yourself when faced with others’ fears and limitations?
I believe that you have the power to be the master of your fears and the captain of your destiny, just like we discussed on the show. By recognizing and exploring your emotions, you can break free from the limitations of fear and embrace abundance, love, and possibility.
The Be Happy Now Show and this blog are here to support you on your journey. Feel free to join the conversation on the show, where we can delve even deeper into these topics together. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts and experiences.
